South Hall is a Renaissance Romanesque style landmark building designed by William Tubby in 1891. Today it serves as classrooms and studios for the Art Department and is located at the center of the historic and landmark Pratt Institute campus. The completed restoration work included all new custom wood windows, cornice replacement, new masonry parapets and other sensitive exterior work that fully upgraded the building’s exterior. Extensive detailed and photographic documentation was prepared for review by NYC Landmark’s Preservation Commission and the work was supported through approvals and eventual construction.
