Blue Building Loft

We created a 1,400 sf duplex loft within two 1860 masonry buildings, two blocks from the UN. The library is a permeable wall plane that allows the passage of a stair to connect the upper level to the more private spaces in the lower level. The kitchen is conceived as a continuous ribbon of stainless steel that has multiple folds to create work surfaces and define the threshold to the open space. Exposed brick, concrete panels and corrugated steel meet warm woods and colors at this loft home.
