Located on the ground floor of Rubin Residence Hall (a Landmark building on lower 5th Avenue) - a dining hall was converted into 10 multipurpose classrooms, two lounge areas, and restrooms primarily to be used by the Expository Writing Program. Two grade changes resulting from conjoined buildings necessitated the inclusion of ramps to seamlessly connect the entire floor. A simplified mural of Manhattan was painted across a two sided feature wall in the central corridor and common area. In conjunction with classroom suite, the main lobby of the building also received a student lounge - for the benefit of the dormitory residents.
