New York University requested that we plan the design and relocation of the NYU Athletics Department’s main offices to a historic landmark building within NoHo’s Mercer Street. This 4th floor was strategically selected since on the West end of the floor, it overlooks the recently completed Paulson Center, where NYU’s newest athletics facilities are located. Our team developed the programming with Athletics leadership and incorporated the required space planning with inspiring environmental graphics that were also designed by MAD. Always with an eye on sustainability, we carefully restored the existing wood floors which recalled gymnasium interiors, and even added a series of carefully edited lines emphasizing its familiar use.

Project Updates

Aug 14, 2024

We just updated our website with new photos for the NYU Athletics project. Here you can see the blending of our architectural work and custom designed environmental graphics!

A variety of meeting spaces, some enclosed and others, more informal, offer staff and athletes a variety of places to collaborate. Also intended for potential student-athletes interested in NYU, the opportunity to showcase the academic and athletic strengths of NYU abounds. Technology, lighting, and acoustics were critical to the success of the project since we were tasked with upgrading an existing floor within a multi-tenant building. Our team coordinated the strategy and implementation of these systems with the NYU-branded interiors and architecture.
