Queens Community House (QCH) is a multi-site, multi-service non-profit that serves many diverse Queens neighborhoods through an extensive number of programs. Formed in 1975, QCH serves residents of all ages, races, faiths, and ethnicities while supporting the viability of the entire borough. The Annex/Admin Facility is located right next to the community center, which enables QCH staff to navigate between both facilities. It is situated on the ground floor of a newly constructed residential building.

MAD developed the Annex facility’s organizational program through a collaborative effort with the QCH committee. The proposed layout includes offices and workstation areas for staff members along with shared spaces like conference rooms, phone rooms, pantry, wellness room, restrooms, etc. A central corridor that runs from the reception area to various program spaces was carefully articulated with the use of finishes and color to brighten up areas that are deficient in natural sunlight. From conceptualization to finish selection and furniture coordination, It is truly a natural extension of the Forest Hills Community Center.
