In collaboration with the Department of Art History & Archeology at Columbia University we reconfigured an existing gallery into the Mary Griggs Burke Center for Japanese Art. Located in Schermerhorn Hall, the renovation provides new offices for the department as well as a 60-person classroom and 20-person seminar room.

Transforming the existing gallery space required specific attention to original detailing and acoustic treatments for the new program. We carefully designed new ceilings and acoustic panels to address these important academic environments while maximizing potential gallery areas.
