Sexual misconduct Prevention, Assistance, Counseling, & Education

In response to growing concerns about the increased need for education and awareness surrounding issues of sexual misconduct, we were asked to design a small space to be integrated within the existing NYU Student Health Center, to provide services related to this topic. S.P.A.C.E. reaches out into an existing, long and dark hallway, creating a tangibly open, glowing entry that signals a welcome and inspiring place within. Albeit a small project, S.P.A.C.E. needed to meet very specific aesthetic requirements in order to provide the dual needs of being a welcoming and open environment for education, as well as a safe and private space to seek help.
