We were tasked with the careful redesign and renovation of this elegant two-family residence in Brooklyn’s South Prospect Park Historic District. The Colonial Revival-style home was originally designed by architects Bryson and Pratt in 1905, but prior owners had left the home in considerable disrepair. The new owner desired a home that respected the building’s historic character while also meeting today’s technological expectations. Updated interiors by Workstead, were meticulously integrated with the revised open layout, as these merged with portions of the original plans. A new library, an expanded kitchen, and multiple bathrooms were gut renovated, resulting in carefully crafted family spaces. Major infrastructure improvements were seamlessly introduced throughout the building’s four stories as the primary residence and small ground floor guest unit were fully updated.
